Jack's 2!

Oh yeah, you heard me right. My little nephew is 2 years old. I can't believe how big he's getting, how much he's talking, and how funny he is. Where did the time go? Last thing I remember he was this little guy...Now he's this little guy...Did you just die a little? I did. On his birthday we went over to his house for a birthday party. I didn't take any pictures so I'm going to steal a couple from Megan (his mom/my sister in law)
He's pretty cute. Happy Birthday little man! I love you.

Tooshie Under the Ribs

Dear babygirl,

You have no idea how much I love you but could you please just adjust slightly so your rear is not under my right rib any longer? I know you've been there pretty much the entire time you've been in there but you're getting bigger and denser my dear and it hurts. You've made yourself extremely comfortable in there and atleast you're comfortable because I know I'm sure not and I guess one of us should be. I don't know if you've cracked my rib, bruised it, moved it permanently, or just push on it constantly but really if you look at any of those things, none of them are great. You don't want to hurt your mother right? Good. So move. I guess if you choose not to move there is nothing I can do to make you. You're coming out in 4 weeks no matter if either one of us is ready for that so in the mean time we should both try to be comfortable, no? Just work on it. Thanks babygirl. I love you anyways.

With all the love my broken down little body can muster,
mom

Vegaaaaassssss!!!

Back in Feb we made plans to go to Vegas with our besties Stu and Kateka before the little nugget gets here. Since then our constant scream to each other has been VEGAAAAAASSSSSSS! It was such a good time I have to write it all down. Warning...this post will be a very long one!

Saturday Day 1--Drive to St. George

Saturday morn we met up with the rest of our party and headed out. I was unsure how my pregnant bladder would handle the driving but I'm happy to report that it did really well. We drove through lots of rain on our way out but once we stopped in Cedar City it was nothing but rays from the glorious sun so Kateka and I of course had to soak that up. We stopped at Zions National park and I hiked my 7 months pregnant body up to see some water drip off a rock. Haha it was actually really gorgeous and as some lady told me on the way up, totally worth it. After we had fun at Zions for a few hours we headed on to St Geezy, got some dinner at a totally sketch pizza place, went and saw Thor, and then hit the sack. Only to be woken up on the sack by our next door neighbors in the hotel. Who knows what they were doing at 3 in the morning, it sounded like rearranging furniture and locking each other out of the room. Normal vaca activity. Funny memory to look back at and laugh now but not so funny in the moment. Over all a great first day :]Sunday Day 2--Drive to Vegas

After an amazing complimentary breakfast at the hotel (seriously...shout out to Comfort Inn) we decided to hit the outlet stores. It was there at the outlet stores that I found a little piece of my heart in Ralph Lauren. It was a hat. It was expensive but after a joking comment that I was leaving a piece of my soul at this outlet mall, David went and bought the hat for me. Ah, cute. After that Stu needed a haircut and Kateka and I wanted to get our nails done so we drove around for a while trying to have an open places in St George on a Sunday. No luck for Stu but Kateka and I found a spot. Turns out no luck for us either because they were horrible and we had to listen to the same song over and over for the hour (maybe longer?) that we were there. Oh well, thats another great thing we can laugh at. We drove into Las Vegas and got settled at the Signature at the MGM Grand. We walked over to the Bellagio to see the Cirque show "O". It was amazing and I loved it, but out of the Cirque Du Soleil shows I've seen it wasn't my very favorite. It was more artsy then the others I've seen. Still great, just different. There was however a really cool act in it involving some platforms that swing and some extremely daring people that dive/flip/jump off of them. The height they were getting was ridiculous and since they had 3 of these platforms swinging at once it was like they were each trying to one up the last guy. The winner? The man that swam like a fish mid-air before diving into the water. If that doesn't make any sense to you, sorry I don't know how else to describe it. It was pretty sick. Afterwords we walked around Bellagio and watched the fountains before going back to our hotel to crash. We took lots of pics this day so I'll try to narrow it down.

Funny note about this next picture, David set the timer on my camera and set it on a statue so we could get a picture of all of us together. Haha some lady saw and after laughing at us offered to take one for us so now we have 2. They're both cute but this one has such a better story :]

Monday Day 3--The Lion King

Vegas weather while we were there wasn't as great as it could have been. It was fairly windy and cloudy almost the whole time. Monday morning there was a good couple of hours of sun. It was glorious. David, Stu, and Kateka went swimming (I didn't because I don't have a maternity swim suit and there is no way to fit this body in anything else at this point. And I didn't see a huge need to buy a maternity swim suit because Vegas is the only time I would have used it before she gets here) while I did my hair and then went down to meet them. I layed on one of the chairs for maybe half an hour in my jean capris and got an amazing farmers burn. Not a farmers tan because I was a little bit fried and I never really tanned, I just peeled. I had nothing on David though who was turning purple right before my little eyes. We bought some aloe later on that night. After swimming we went to the Bellagio buffet for lunch. Just a little tip if you're ever in Vegas and want to hit a buffet, some buffets close down in between lunch and dinner to switch out the lunch food to dinner food. The Bellagio does not so you can go at 3:30 (dinner starts at 4) pay lunch prices, get some lunch food to start, and then go crazy when they break out the dinner stuff. We hit the jackpot with that meal. After eating a ton we had to book it to The Lion King. I loved it. Such a good show, amazing costumes, and lets just talk about the music! My favorite is the He Lives in You song. The Rifiki actress was beyond. Totally my favorite.

Tuesday Day 4--Massages

We had massages set up at the Massage Envy off the strip on Tuesday. I was so excited because I've been having tons of back pain and...well everywhere pain and I'm so uncomfortable so I thought nothing would be better for me the a pre-natal massage. Well let me tell you something. Pre-natal massages are just really not that great! haha You can't get anything deep tissue because of those toxins that are released in your body would go straight to your baby. Totally makes sense but I was devastated. Basically we paid for me to get an oily back tickle and learn all about Patty's (my masseuse) life. It was fine but definitely not something I will spend my money on again...David can do that for me. :] After the massages (which the boys both enjoyed but Kateka and I got jipped) we went over to the Forum Shops at Ceasers. I got to return to my amazing dance site from when I was 12. For those that don't know, I got picked with a lot of other kids from around the country to go put on a superstar show at Ceasers Palace when I was 12. Back then it was living my dream, dancing everyday and really not doing anything else. Ceasers was a magical place back then...you know what it looked like now? A bunch of conference rooms. haha It was fun to revisit though. Then we went to Carnegie Deli in the Mirage, which David was dying to go to. He ate the biggest pastrami sandwich I've ever seen. Not for me thats for sure. That night we took it easy, some lounging about the hotel and some Haagen Dazs to top off the night. Pretty great.

Wednesday Day 5--Time to come home

It came way too soon but it was time to return home. We slept in and after packing up and checking out decided to go to Hash House A Go Go, which was a way recommended breakfast joint. I'm not a huge breakfast person and when I am I'm pretty basic so I just got myself some Starbucks and went along for the ride with the others. The menu there was like looking at a menu in France...or at least I felt that way. haha At least I didn't have to pick anything, it was way too overwhelming. David and Stu wanted the chicken and waffles and Kateka got a mango pancake that was literally as big as her and Stu's heads combined. Well, Kateka got her meal right away but the waitress told us they burnt the waffles so they were fixing some new ones. David and Stu waited and waited and waited some more. FINALLY homegirl brings out 1 plate of chicken and waffles for David. Apparently she didn't hear Stu or something. Terrible. Poor Stu had to wait for them to make his and the waitress was not apologetic at all! Once he got it everyone else was done (I was done first since I didn't eat anything) but he finished quickly seeing as he was starving. Then we began the dreaded drive home. Thats when Kateka realized that her phone was missing. Thats like missing a child. We were too far to turn back so we called the hotel and when they didn't have it we called Hash House A Go Go. They sure had it but they were sure uncooperative. Kateka tried to work every angle but basically was told she could pick it up in a year or whenever she gets back to Vegas. Luckily Kateka's sister in law has some family down there that was able to go get it for her but lets just say I was not so impressed with this famous breakfast spot. LAME! Well we made it home safe to return to work the next day. It was such a fun quick trip. A final get-a-way before its not easy to get-a-way anymore. We had the best company so thank you Stuart and Kateka for being so understanding of my huge body and its restrictions. You guys are amazing! Here are some shots from Hash House before we saw their true colors ;]

MIA

Ok I swear I'm not dead. I may be saying that to let myself know as much as I'm trying to let you know. I have so much to blog about....the newest pregnancy thoughts, Vegas, David's mad photography skills and the baby shower my friends threw me on Saturday. I'll get around to it I swear. Right now I get up, go to work, either go to the dr or come home depending on the day, elevate my HUGE (I'm not joking, I'll take a picture) swollen ankles, work really hard at breathing and try to push my child out from under my ribs, watch David do everything around the house, feel bad for him for a minute until I remember how miserable I am, shower, go to bed with my feet elevated on a pillow all night, and then I get up and do it again! So as you can tell, I swamped. I have too many great memories that I need to get down though so I'll be blogging soon I promise! Thank you for your patience.

Tums

Where would I be without you? Since the beginning of this pregnancy I've had heartburn. Early on it was just in the evening, now its all day long. It doesn't matter what I eat, even water gives me heartburn at this point. So I eat hot tamales and nachos...may as well enjoy what you eat if you're going to have it either way right? ;] Tums do not take away the heartburn completely and I went through a stage where they didn't help at all but now they're back to helping a little bit. A tip for those with heartburn that can't be touched: never lay down and learn to enjoy the rattling that comes from the tums bottle in your purse as you walk :]

Introducing: Charlie Bear

As a child David had a dream. This dream never became a reality for him, the poor picked on man. While walking through Costco the other day he saw his childhood dream sitting on a shelf and right then and there his life changed. He decided his daughter would never be as deprived as he was as a child so he snatched his little dream right up. I wasn't with him at Costco for this earth moving event so when he got home he screamed my name and told me I had to come outside. I was asleep and naturally thought some one had died or something was wrong. What on earth was he screaming at me for? I got up (half awake) and followed him to his car. He told me to open the back door. I thought someone was going to jump out and scream surprise at me or something...nope. Instead my little eyes found this in his backseat...I laughed for maybe half and hour straight. David had always wanted a huge teddy bear as a little boy and when he saw this he immediately thought of his daughter and how much she'll love it. Which she will...in a couple years. haha And don't you love how he even buckled him in to make sure nothing happened to him on the drive home. It was hilarious how serious David was about this bear. What a good dad already right? We have no crib, no changing table, no nothing to be honest but we have a life size brown bear for her. What else will she need in life? Nothing. Please welcome Charlie Bear Barham into our family :]
