What is it about break up songs that I love? I'm not sure but lately I've been on a kick to find gorgeous heartbreaking songs. (this has nothing to do with my real life I promise :]) I don't think about old break ups I've had or friends that are going through them. I just like to sing along and be bitter with whoever put their little heart into writing it. A couple of my favorites right now are....
and...
Do you love them? I do. I guess part of it is my love for dance and so I think about what I could do with that song. Everyone knows the best dances are the ones done to heart wrenching songs. Just thought I'd share a couple favs.
p.s. If you were wondering David's stance on these songs, he LOVES them ;]

Family BBQ and Life Long Friends
Last Saturday we had a family BBQ with my moms side of the family. It was so fun to see Tawna from Texas and hang out with Trish's new little men. They couldn't be cuter I swear. We went swimming with my cousins young kids and sat outside enjoying each other. Couldn't have asked for a better time.
Some of the guys sitting around. My Uncle Ralph, Uncle Larry, Cousin Scott and his son Weston, and my bro Alec
My cousin Scott and his wife Heather just had their little girl Cami so we had to take a picture of all the new little ones together. Jace is the one screaming. Cami and Matteo look fairly relaxed :]
That night David and I went to my friend Sahar's wedding reception. She looked gorgeous and of course I didn't get any pictures of her! But take my word for it, it was a beautiful reception. I'm so happy for her and her new hubby Jake. They're darling together!
Livs asking her the questions
A lot of the girls were there. Looks a little like high school doesn't it??

Here are Hadley, Kellee, and me at the reception. (ps do you like the random lounging that's going on in the background?)
Right now as we speak I have 5 wedding invites on my fridge. I need a calender that's specifically for wedding dates so I don't miss any! I'm so excited for my friends that are getting married. It's great to see how happy they are! I recently went to Kellee's bridal shower. It was a black and white affair. Olivia and Megan did such a cute job decorating. Loved all the black and white treats.
Kellee played the "how well do you know your future husband" game. She looks pissed here because she wasn't doing so great!
Kellee is one of my best friends. She's always been an amazing friend to me. There is no one else like her. I love her to death and I'm so excited for her and Matt. Your weddings next Kell! I'm dying a little bit because its so close, I can't wait! Love your face.

My Little Black Heart
You know those homeless people that sit on freeway exits and outside stores? Everytime I see them I think to myself "I'm not giving you money to buy boos, drugs, or go home to your 12 bedroom mansion." It sounds totally heartless I know but I just don't trust them. I get gut feelings about people almost instantly when I meet them. One time I was with my mom and we saw a man outside Wingers that we both just felt like needed our help. We gave him some money but other then that I try my best to avoid eye contact. Well the other night I was at Chick-Fil-A buying David and I a romantic anniversary dinner and I saw a man like that across the street at a Wal-Mart. The drive through line was long so I had some time to watch him. He had some kind of muscle disease like cerebral palsy or something. I saw a car pull over on their way out of the parking lot, the man struggled over to the car and took the money the person was handing out the window. He then waved to the kids that were in the back seat. He struggled back and forth as many people stopped. Each person that stopped had kids or a carseat in the back of their car. I was so touched by the people that stopped. I felt like he really did need help and these people, that could have found something else to do with that extra money I'm sure of it, were stopping to help that adorable man. My little black heart melted. David says he's seen him there before and I've decided whenever I go to that Wal-Mart and he's there I'm going to forget about the diet dr pepper I could get later and I'm going to help him. There are good people in this world and I was uplifted by them that day. Now I'll do my part to be an example to others.

SYTYCD Top 7
I actually liked the majority of the dances this week. I think Lauren did great in both her dances. I didn't have as much hate for Adechike as I normally do. And of course I loved Kent. But the dance that gave me chills was Roberts. It was choreographed by Travis Wall, who I love. His mom is sick so he put that emotion into a dance and I loved it. Click here if you want to feel the love too. Long story short Ashley got injured and went home this week. I will definitely miss her. She's gorgeous and I am heartbroken for her. Lauren is the only girl left so she better fight to win it for the girls :]

Perspective
Its all about perspective. I think Heavenly Father is trying to drill this into my head because I've had several instances recently where I have learned that perspective is important. My most recent example was a car accident yesterday. My friend Gentry had a interview and needed to get to her car faster then Trax could get her there so I agreed to give her a ride. As I was getting off the freeway I was hurrying to make the green light. There is an immediate light after you turn onto this road, there were no cars waiting at the light and I just assumed it was still green. It wasn't. It had turned at least 10 seconds before. I started to go through the light and heard Gentry say "ITS RED!" I registered that it was red but I couldn't stop at that point. I saw a white truck starting toward us. I sped up trying to get past him before he could hit us. I didn't. He hit my car right past the back door on the passenger side. My bumper cover fell off and I dragged it in a U turn to go back to meet the white truck man. He and 2 other cars were pulled off to the side of the road. As I got over they rushed my car and they were asking Gentry and I if we were ok. We were and the driver that hit me was ok also. Here is where the perspective sets in. I was devastated about my car and about the other driver but the first things I started thinking were
"At least it wasn't on the side with my gas tank." It would have been worse if I had spelled gas all over the road or something.
"At least I sped up and he only hit the back of my car. I can't imagine if he had t-boned me and hit Gentry right on. I don't know what I would do with myself if Gentry was hurt right now."
"At least my car isn't totaled." This is fixable.
"At least his truck isn't really hurt. His license plate and fender scratch are so simple compared to what it could have been."
I am blessed. Our Heavenly Father was protecting everyone involved as we went through that. As much as I wish Gentry hadn't been with me when I got in an accident, I was so blessed that she was there. She handled all the insurance exchanging and calming me and the man I hit down. She was great in a situation when I was a mess.
So far I have only relived it like 237 times. I will learn and grow from this. There is nothing I can do to change it now and I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me and comforting me while I go through this.

3 years ago today....
I was married and dancing at my reception with this guy.
Then we would go to the Marriott Hotel where the air conditioning was broken. David would be bargaining with the front desk people explaining how we had been outside all day in 106 degree weather and we needed some freaking air. We would soon be getting into the car to go to the Marriott downtown. I would then realize we had thrown away our marriage certificate in the trash can at the gas station. I had just scooped up all the toliet paper in the backseat and right in the middle of that mess was the peice of paper that proved we were married. The piece of paper that would let us share a room on the cruise because I was under 21. If we couldn't prove we were married they would assume that David kidnapped me and was forcing me on a Carnival Cruise to Mexico with him. We would be racing back to the gas station and literally digging through the trash. We would find it, I will almost passed out with happiness and then we will go to our air conditioned buisness suite downtown.

Soon we would be leaving to go to the gas station and clean our hot mess of a car.

I am so glad I had my best friend next to me with every step. Marriage hasn't always been easy but I finally feel like I'm getting the hang of it. I wouldn't give up all the hard times for anything. I love him more then I ever knew possible.

SYTYCD Top 9 and Top 8
I was in Seattle last week and when we got home David's dad was here from Japan so we've spent all our time with him. Today I got to catch up on my Tivo a little bit. 4 episodes of SYTYCD later I wanted to share my opinions (trust me I have a lot of them :])
I LOVED the Top 9 show. I have this thing about me, when I see someone dancing that I love I can't help but move with the music and get super into it. Lets just say that I was pretty much dancing on my couch during this episode. I have a few favorites on the show this season. I love love love Kent. I think he is absolutely adorable. I love his personality and I think he has an amazing talent on top of that. I thought the judges were a little hard on him that week. I don't think that he's being fake with his over the top personality. I think he's totally like that in real life, which makes me wish he was my bestie. I like Lauren but its fading a little bit as I watch Ashley. I think Ashley's lines when she dances are out of control. Ridiculous how incredible she is. I loved her contemporary. Flawless. I've also fallen in love with Robert. I think he's totally under rated. He's got crazy talent and I thought it was darling how much he loves his mom. I love Jose of course because who doesn't. I thought he rocked the classical dance that week. Like Nigel said, not the best dancer but I can't help but love him. I know Billy and Alex's talent is mind blowing and I really like both of them but I know they're going to be good every week so I don't look forward to their routines as much. However, Alex's and Twitch's hip hop was hands down my favorite dance of the week if not ever!! Its up there with Bleeding love! All I can say is...Are you kidding me??? Click here if you want your mind to blow up too.
Now for the ones I hate. Maybe that's a strong word..now for the ones I disli..nope can't do it. Hate. Adechicke. I liked him during Vegas Week because I felt like he put everything out there but since they've been on the show he has bugged. He's trying to sell his personality to me but I'm not buying it sir. Melinda. Oh she drives me crazy. Dude she can tap but that's it and if you wanted to be a pro dancer you shouldn't have spent all your time doing tap. Join a tap company and leave this show to the non pigeon toed. Thanks. I was shocked when Billy and Robert were in the bottom three. America, we're watching the same show right? But I guess everyone except Melinda did well that week so someone has got to accompany her in the bottom. Thank goodness she's gone. See ya.
P.S. loved that they brought back "The Garden" for a minute. I adore both Mark and Courtney.
I think its funny how on the Top 8 show they "mixed it up" and decided the dancers would not only be dancing with the all stars but with each other. Someone on that show read my blog and agreed that the whole all star thing wasn't all it was cracked up to be so your welcome. :] Poor Alex! I'm sure the worst pain is not being able to dance. Bless his little heart and his achilles tendon. Loved Jose contemporary. You could totally tell that he's got a little crush on Lauren. So cute. I thought Jose and Billy's african was weird. I loved Ashley's hip hop. I hated that when they went to the judges table Mia thought it became her dance. Adechicke is buggin bad. I thought his Bollywood was ok, mostly I was just impressed that he did like 8 split jumps at the end. I LOVED Kent and Lauren together! Oh my gosh they're gorgeous. My favorite Lauren dance for sure and Kent just kills every dance he's in. I think they need to get married and choreograph for this show. You could tell Kent was feeling Lauren bad!! They're perfect for each other! I died. If you want to die too click here. The video goes just to the end of the dance but right after it ended was the cutest part. He didn't want to talk to the judges and he was just holding on to her like he couldn't let go. Oh, love them!
Bottom three this week...Alex (because he's injured), Billy (I don't really know why. Maybe because he's not an "eligible bachelor" for tween girls, if you know what I mean ;]) , and Ashley????? WHAT! I love her. It should have been Adechicke. One perk of Ashley being in the bottom 3, we got to see her dance. Can't get enough, she's beautiful. Alex is out because he has to get surgery on his achilles tendon. Nigel invited him back next year so maybe his 3rd time will be the charm! I almost cried when he was saying goodbye. He's incredible.
Now the question is...What will next week bring?

Hello Seattle
We're back from my big surprise vacation! We went to Seattle :]. I had such a good time. It was the perfect balance of relaxing and exciting adventures. David told me where we were going on the way to the airport. Neither one of us has ever been to North West so we couldn't wait to see what everybody loves so much. We stayed in downtown Seattle. We went to Pikes Market, the aquarium, Woodland Park Zoo, a Cirque Du Soleil show, Tacoma Glass Blowing studio, (where David blew us a really cool bowl) the Space Needle, Snolqualmie Falls, Hoh Rain forest, Second Beach, and we took a harbor cruise in Puget Sound. We stayed busy but I loved exploring with David. I must do a quick shout out to Samantha, our GPS. We would not be home right now if it wasn't for her. We'd be starving to death somewhere in Washington never to return home again. Man the streets in Seattle are confusing. So thank you Sam for being our guiding light! If you twisted my arm to pick a favorite thing we did I would probably have to pick the Hoh Rain forest. Its about 4 hours from Seattle. We had to drive and take a ferry and then drive drive some more. We went through Forks so of course David thinks that's my favorite part but its not. The Hoh Rain forest is the only rain forest in the US. We went on a little hike called the Hall of Mosses and got some killer nature shots. David was so amped on taking lots and lots of pictures this trip. I must say he got some great ones. We took like 400 pictures atleast so I just picked some favs. Without further ado here are a few pictures!
