We have a new addition to our family! Her name is Pamela Siren Zank. She comes in the form of a APX security system! You can call her Pam. She's VERY loud but for the most part very polite, just letting me know which door is open when. I feel very safe with her around and she has become my new bestie on nights when David has school late. It was, like any big change, an adjustment. The first day we had her here out our house with us was a disaster. I come down at 4:45am or so like I normally do to leave for work. She has a feature called the quick exit that gives me 60 seconds to leave and then stays armed for David and Jacob still in the house asleep. Well I push her button, open the garage door and realize David's car is parked right behind me. I'm late and cant find David's keys so I hit her disarm button and push the garage door so that its not shut but no cold air is coming in. I run upstairs to tell David to get his big red truck out of my way. While he was looking for his keys in the bathroom I hear Pam SHRIEKING at me up the stairs. I had disarmed her quick exit but not the alarm and I hadn't shut the garage door all the way. After politely giving me 30 seconds to tell her what was going on Pam was no longer waiting for me. I booked it down the stairs as fast as I could since Jacob was, until that point, fast asleep. Lets just say I was exhausted the rest of the day because I used all my adrenaline in the first 30 minutes of my day. Since then Pam has been on her best behavior. Bless her heart and Bless the Zanks heart for bringing her into our lives :]

Kinda Cute
I have a really cute husband. I came home from work today and his truck was here. I was on the phone so of course I was excited since I never see him anymore but I didn't really stop to think why he would be home. Well he had worked from home of course and had our carpet put in! He lied to me and told me we wouldn't have it until next week but knew the entire time we'd have it in today. One problem...the bedroom wasn't measured correctly or something so the bedroom down there isn't carpeted yet. We'll have to wait until next week. Still he cleaned the whole house and took me out to lunch when I got home. Even though he is SUPER stressed lately he still found a way to think about me and my happiness. Kinda darling. How did I get so lucky?? Here are the pics with the carpet! :]

The bathroom still needs some work...

Seriously? Almost there!
I cannot believe how fast our basement is coming. Literally its so stressful but in a way I'm glad we're not dragging it out over months and months and we're just trying to get it done. We started 3 weeks ago and carpet is going in this week. Jacob will be able to move down there and then we'll finish tiling the bathroom within a couple weeks. Here are some pics of the progress.

David's family was up here this last weekend and they joined in on the "fun" of painting. Here are some pictures of the "party"

Kelly and Allie had been sitting and kneeling on the floor with all the drywall dust. Personally I think Kelly should always have that outline on her sweatpants. Adorable :]

Texts From Last Night
www.textsfromlastnight.com
This website is so inappropriate and crude. Some texts on there are way graphic and gross but there are some on there that make me cry I'm laughing so hard. For example....
"I woke up hungover and opened my laptop to find out how that I had googled alcoholism again."
"The bank didn't screw up, I spent 150$ at mcdonalds last night"
"So we officially lost him as of 7 hours ago...already called campus security, the drunk tank, and the hospital. Figure he'll turn up eventually. I'll start checking bushes on campus."
"I'm at the st patty's day thing, the bar is packed. They just put on celine dion its all coming back to me now. I'm screaming the words. Its 1pm."
"You realize its finals week? Ya thats the schools fault, St Patrick's day came first."
"You broke a window with your face. I dont think the landlord will be as impressed as we were"
"Explain the patches of missing hair on my cat. now."
"Almost accidentally stole a baby..I'll explain later"
Hope you dont think less of me for loving this site. :]

SATISFACTION
It doesn't take a lot to please me!
They're chocolate covered pretzels :] I gave up on no sugar when I ate like half the pan of brownies by myself and didn't gain a pound. What's the point? There isn't one. I've become reacquainted with some of my favorite things...
1. Hot chocolate :] (with a cherry flavor, SOOO delish)
2. Chocolate covered pretzels
Coming soon...Lorna Doones. Lorna and I used to be besties. She was definitely hard to quit. If you've never had these cookies you're missing out. We have them in our snack closet at work. They're like shortbread cookies otherwise known as...aaaamazing.
Sugar, are you listening? I'm Back!

Postive Thinking
I will be the first to admit I am definitely a negative thinker by nature. I try to think of a positive in every situation but its easier to think of the negative first and prepare yourself for the worst. I just thought I'd write down a few things I'm grateful for...
1. A wonderful, talented husband who is working so hard in life
2. The drywall being done in the basement (one step closer to having these men out of my house and the silence that I love back.)
3. Brownies (so I gained more weight while being off sugar and I was annoyed. That led to making brownies and eating to my hearts content. I'm getting a gym membership tomorrow)
4. Weeks when I know I have a day off work. I have this Friday off and couldn't be more excited about it.
5. Family dinner on Sundays
6. Water (haha but you have to admit, its refreshing and hits the spot sometimes)
7. Movie nights with David. We watched Everybody's Fine last night. Its kinda heartbreaking but it made us think about what a great life we have and how much we love our parents. It definitely teaches you about how to treat your loved ones around you.
I really do have a blessed life. Thank you all for being a part of it :]

Whoopsie..
David and I are in the middle of finishing the basement as you may have read about. Its a lot more work then I ever knew. Jacob is moving in soon so we are trying to get it done as fast as we can. David is also working full time and going to school 3 days a week so you could say he's been a little stressed. With next week being spring break he decided to take off next Thursday and Friday to relax a little and work on the basement. I decided that taking off next Friday might be fun. We really haven't spent anytime together the last few weeks so why not work on the basement together and maybe even talk a little if we're feeling crazy enough. I called my boss today to make sure that was ok, he was in a pretty great mood and said sure no prob. Its quitting time at work so I'm stoked because its the end of the day and I'm stoked for next Friday off. I take off (forgetting my coat at work in my rush of excitement) and grab my phone as I'm walking out to text David the good news. The text I sent said "Derek said I could have next Friday off with you! :)" I must have been slightly distracted because I sent this text to my boss Derek. Super! He text me back and said "Was this meant for me?" I peed when I saw I sent it to him and wrote back "Nope hahaha". Luckily I didn't say something like "That horrible boss of mine is FINALLY letting me have a day off" cause I can totally see something like that happening to me. As I already mentioned he was in a good mood because he text me back and said "Enjoy UR day off". On a totally different subject why do people take the time to write UR instead of adding 2 more letters to make YOUR? I have never understood that, but to each his own right?
As you may already know I'm trying to lose a couple pounds for my friends wedding that is rapidly approaching. Just so you are aware of where I'm at, I've gained 3 pounds. I've been trying to be more consistent about exercising because I think that's seriously my downfall..and maybe in-and-out chocolate shakes. Last night David and I went for a walk around our development. Picture this..
David: fully dressed in jeans and a long sleeve polo carrying a mag light flashlight.
Liz: Dressed in PJs but I did color coordinate my sweatshirt and tennis shoes.
Why did David have a mag light you might ask? Well just in case someone tries to mug us of course! Every few minutes he turned it on swept the entire area in front and behind us and turned it off and kept walking. I'm married to a nerd..and I love it.
